REJOICE IN THE LORD

How do you Navigate life when things get hard? How do you ride out the storms of life when they come your way?How do you find long lasting happiness in this world? Happiness that can give you strength regardless of the troubles you see. Happiness that gives you encouragement when the nights are long and the days are cloudy. True happiness at times seems unimaginable and impossible to posse.

In Philippians chapter 4 we find Paul in imprisoned for preaching the word of god.  In a cold and dark prison Paul, even in this less then optimal environment, birth the words “Rejoice in the Lord again I say rejoice.” How could this be? How can Paul find so much joy even in these desperate circumstances?

The answer lies in the text. The text indicates that Paul placed his joy in the Lord. By Paul placing His joy in the Lord he was able to escaped the entanglement of depression, self doubt and hopelessness.

How many times do we put our happiness in things other than God? How many times do we put our joy in people, places or things? The bible says in Colossians 3:2  think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.  When we trust Jesus with our happiness then we will never be disappointed.

Jesus Christ is the source of all joy, all peace and all happiness. Therefore no matter how dark the night may be joy surely comes in the morning.
